If you’ve been reading the news today, you’ve probably seen headlines like this one:

Rather than showing leadership by championing the Robin Hood Tax -- a tax can work -- Stephen Harper is mobilizing his people to squash the idea of any kind of tax on banks.
He’s stepping up his campaign, so we have to step up ours. Which is exactly what we are going to do. At 6:00am today we're launching 24 Hours For The Tax, a national day of action.
What we need you to do:
1. Change your Facebook and Twitter picture to a 24 Hours For The Tax graphic.
2. Repost our hourly Facebook and Twitter status updates, providing 24 reasons over the next 24 hours why Canada should support this tax.
3. Grab the code below and post a 24 Hours For The Tax banner in your blog, and write about why Harper’s henchmen don’t speak for you.
4. After 5:00pm, phone (613) 992-4211 to leave Stephen Harper a voicemail message demanding he get behind the tax.
5. Write a letter-to-the-editor in response to the recent glut of anti-tax coverage.
With your help (there are thousands of you!) we can build momentum to counter Harper’s attempts to once again embarrass Canada on the world stage.
Thank you so much!
